Brotherwood converted the very first electric Wheelchair Accessible Vehicle in 2015, with the launch of the Nissan ‘Envy’ eNV-200 WAV. The Envy was the first electric WAV to gain full European Whole Vehicle Type approval, PAS:2012 approval and also the first electric WAV on the Motability scheme.

With this experience we know all of the challenges involved with the conversion of electric vehicles for wheelchair users. Our new electric WAV, the elektron builds upon our experience to deliver more space and comfort for the wheelchair user.

The new Brotherwood elektron electric WAV conversion maximises the potential space within the Vivaro e-Life to provide a flat, level lowered floor of 64½” / 164cm in length. Much longer than previous electric WAVs, the elektron provides increased space, ride comfort and visibility for the wheelchair user.

The whisper quiet electric drivetrain make travelling in the Brotherwood electron quiet and relaxing. Making for easier conversation and peaceful, tranquil journeys.

ACCESSIBILITY

Effortless Access

COUNTERBALANCED RAMP

Electric Vehicles have never been more accessible. Our rear wheelchair ramp is counterbalanced, making it light enough to lift with a single finger. The access ramp is only 107cm long, tucking neatly under the rear tailgate for shelter from the elements when loading. The shallow angle and high-traction surface make loading and unloading wheelchair and passenger safe, fast and convenient.

The Hook-i PAWRS combined winch and restraint system makes loading even easier – providing power assistance at the push of a button, for effortless access even for large or heavy wheelchairs.

STORQ applies tension to the wheelchair restraints – ideal for those who might struggle with traditional buckles. By ensuring the restraints are properly tensioned, the wheelchair user enjoys a safer, more stable ride.

POP-OUT SIDE STEP

Access is made easy for everyone with the Brotherwood elektron. Rear seat passengers get in and out easily and safely with the pop-out side step, which cleverly deploys automatically when the electric rear sliding doors are opened. VB-FULLAIR SYSTEM

Exclusive to Brotherwood®, the optional VB-FullAir air suspension system replaces the traditional rear spring setup with a full air suspension system that filters out unevenness in the road surface, thereby increasing ride comfort.

The VB-FullAir system is also self-levelling, ensuring a consistent ride height and floor level at any load weight or number of passengers. The air suspension system can be lowered for even easier loading with a ramp angle of just 9º.

The Hook-i PAWRS is a remote-controlled, powered front restraint system, to assist loading a wheelchair and passenger. No pushing required, simply attach the restraints and press the remote control for effortless loading of combined wheelchair and passenger weights up to 250kg.

For complete peace of mind we offer an annual Safety Assurance Programme. A qualified service engineer will visit at a time and place that suits you, to perform a full 15-point conversion safety inspection, including restraints, ramp, safety belts and more to ensure safe operation of your conversion.

For Motability clients an annual inspection is included at no cost for the first 5 Years of the Motability agreement. For all other clients the first annual visit is free of charge. You can then choose to book one or more subsequent annual visits.
