Brotherwood Automobility are pleased to announce the launch of a brand new model of Wheelchair Accessible Vehicle, based on the new Ford Tourneo Connect, which brings a host of innovative and unique safety and comfort features to the disabled motoring sector.

Arete is a Greek expression meaning “Excellence of any kind”, and so the aptly named
Brotherwood Carete
offers excellent transport for wheelchair users and their families. The new Carete offers superb car-like refinement and ride quality within a compact and easy-to-drive package, whilst maintaining a cavernous interior with up to 59 inches of internal headroom for wheelchair passengers, with a low, level floor and wide entry point. With refined torsion-beam rear suspension the Brotherwood Carete rides smoothly over the roughest roads and provides excellent ride comfort for up to five passengers, with an engaging drive and superior roadholding.

The refinement continues in the interior, with high levels of safety and comfort features as standard across the range. With front, side and curtain airbags, Electronic Stability Control, and Emergency Brake Assist as part of the standard Ford Intelligent Protection System (IPS) package, plus optional Active City Stop, the advanced safety technologies offer peace of mind when travelling. Luxury features including DAB radio, Bluetooth connectivity with voice control, powered front and rear windows and air conditioning or climate control also feature, with the range-topping Titanium model boasting a panoramic sunroof which extends all the way back over the wheelchair passenger’s head for a light, airy cabin with excellent outward visibility.

The Brotherwood Carete will also be the first Wheelchair Accessible Vehicle to offer Brotherwood’s patented new
STORQ
(Self Tensioning Operational Restraint Quattro) Wheelchair Restraint System. The innovative system, exclusive to Brotherwood, automatically applies extra tension to the wheelchair restraints – ideal for those with limited grip or dexterity who might struggle with traditional buckles. By ensuring the rear wheelchair restraints are properly tensioned, the wheelchair user enjoys a more stable ride with the added safety of a properly secured chair.

The Brotherwood Carete Wheelchair Accessible Ford Tourneo Connect is available from Brotherwood Automobility now in Style, Zetec and Titanium trim levels, with petrol and diesel, manual and automatic options available.
