The UK’s Wheelchair Accessible Vehicle Specialists Brotherwood Automobility celebrated their 40th anniversary milestone by welcoming a bumper crowd to Haynes Motor Museum in Sparkford, Somerset, for an annual showcase on their range of adapted vehicles for wheelchair users.
Over the course of two days, blessed by some unusually summery weather, the Brotherwood team welcomed a mixture of returning clients and new customers, to explore and drive their market-leading range of Wheelchair Accessible Vehicles (WAVs). With new models from manufacturers including Mercedes-Benz, Ford, and Volkswagen, available to try, guests were able to discover the company’s unique choice of wheelchair conversions, each designed and engineered by Brotherwood to ensure the utmost comfort, inclusion and safety for wheelchair users, along with easy-to-use access and restraint systems for families and carers.
Included in the vehicle range was the new Brotherwood Ford Tourneo Custom, an all-new accessible vehicle with a class-leading 63” / 1600mm of internal headroom. The new model boasts a wheelchair restraint system tested to 200kg, making it ideal for users of larger and off-road powerchairs, and features full-size rear seats, along with range-topping Titanium X Luxe specification including full-length panorama roof, ensuring equal comfort for all passengers.
John Daniel, Managing Director or Brotherwood Automobility, commented:
“We were delighted to welcome so many old friends and new to join us in celebrating 40 years of ‘Engineering to Enable’ at Haynes Motor Museum. Not only does our annual event enable us to showcase our range of market-leading products in one place, but it also gives us an opportunity to spend more time speaking to our valued clients, and providing them with a memorable experience of the UK’s largest collection of cars and motorcycles.
Our thanks go to everybody who joined us over the two days, along with Haynes Museum and its staff, who assisted our team and our clients and enabled them to enjoy the event.”
The two-day event follows on from the company’s eye-catching presence at Naidex, the UK’s leading event in empowering and supporting the disabled community, where they first revealed their conversion for the new Tourneo Custom, which will be available to order for deliveries later this year.
