Over time the PAWRS Front Restraint Belts in your Wheelchair Accessible Vehicle may become unequal in length from the base unit, making it difficult to load and secure the wheelchair user straight within the vehicle.
Follow our Easy-Use Guide to reset and equalise the belts to ensure they retract and operate evenly.
Step by Step: Resetting Your PAWRS

1. Press the restraint release button inside the vehicle. The red light should be ON.

2. Pull the PAWRS restraint belts out as far as they will extend.

3. Press the restraint release button inside the vehicle. The red light should be OFF.

4. Whilst holding the restraint belts, take two steps into the vehicle.

5. Pull back firmly on the restraint belts. Take care, if either belt is loosely coiled inside the PAWRS unit, they may extend some distance when pulled.

6. Take a further two steps into the vehicle.

7. Pull back firmly on the restraint belts.

8. Repeat this process every two steps into the vehicle until you reach the PAWRS. The restraint belts should now be tightly wound on the reels and retract equally.
