Production Planner

Location: Beer Hackett, Near Sherborne, Dorset (DT9)
Salary: Competitive, Negotiable DOE
Contract: Permanent, Full time
Hours: Mon – Thu 8.30am – 5.00pm; Fridays 8.30am – 4.00pm

We are seeking an organised, conscientious Production Planner, responsible for planning the production of Wheelchair Accessible Vehicles (WAVs) through our factory.

Reporting to the Works Manager and Sales Manager, this role will play a crucial role in optimising production efficiency, ensuring on-time delivery of vehicles to fulfil client orders, and maintaining buffer stocks, ensuring sales continuity from all OEM vehicle manufacturers.

MORE DETAILS

  • Maintaining the planning schedule for new and previously owned vehicles on the BMS / Planner.
  • Maintaining accuracy on internal systems in line with weekly vehicle updates received from OEM vehicle manufacturers
  • Producing Job Cards for production to agreed planned timeframes
  • Liaising with OEM vehicle manufacturers and dealers to ensure any issues affecting vehicle delivery are recognised and solutions identified
  • Production capacity planning of vehicle orders to fulfil sales demand, balancing customer delivery requirements and available production capacity through various stages
  • Coordinating and supporting Sales, Procurement, and other relevant departments to ensure accurate and timely client order fulfilment
  • Identifying and reporting opportunities for optimising production efficiency and trends
  • Knowledge and experience in a Manufacturing and Production environment would be beneficial

Fabrication Welder Conversion Engineer

Location: Beer Hackett, Near Sherborne, Dorset (DT9)
Salary: Competitive, Negotiable DOE
Contract: Permanent, Full time
Hours: Mon – Thu 8.00am – 5.00pm; Fridays 8.00am – 1.30pm

Brotherwood are one of the UK’s leading Wheelchair Accessible Vehicle (WAV) specialists; supplying quality conversions for the transportation of wheelchair passengers. We currently have an opportunity for a Fabrication Welder to fulfil a Conversion Engineer role.


The opportunity is for a skilled engineer working to very tight tolerances. The position will involve the extensive conversion of brand new base vehicles in order for them to safely carry a wheelchair passenger. A weld test will be required.

The Conversion Engineer must be City and Guilds qualified or equivalent.

MORE DETAILS

  • Completing assigned work to company standards
  • Welding components and assemblies such as fuel tanks, floor pans, seat frames etc.
  • Testing of certain assemblies e.g. fuel tanks
  • Manufacture of assembly jigs and fittings
  • Extensive modification of a variety of Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) vehicles
  • Completing relevant documentation – Job cards, test and service reports
  • Produce welds to BS 4872 and pass a coded test once employed
  • The ability and experience to organise and prioritise work effectively
  • A Team Player, but with the confidence to work successfully on their own
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Good communication skills
  • Valid, clean driving licence
