Students chosen to front youth disability video campaign

Four students from the South Wales higher education college Coleg Gwent have spoken of their delight at being chosen as the regional faces of a new UK government-backed video campaign aimed at inspiring young people living with disabilities.

'Role Models: Inspire a generation' has been created to showcase the amazing efforts of young adults who may be dependent on aids such as mobility cars but have still managed to achieve great things in their teenage years and early twenties, with one of those chosen to represent her area, Jamie-Leigh Williams, saying that she was 'absolutely amazed and honoured' to be selected.

The 'can-do' attitude of youngsters like Williams and her peers was also praised by a tutor at the college, Victoria English, who added that all four of the Coleg Gwent students provide a 'shining example' to others facing similar physical and mental challenges throughout the country.
