Ludicrous solution to a two year request for a wheelchair ramp outside a home
Clare Lally had struggled up three flights of stairs every day pushing a wheelchair. Having bulbar palsy from birth, Ms Lally's daughter is a wheelchair user. After campaigning to the council for two years, West Dumbartonshire provided a ramp as a solution to provide ease of access. The Metro reports explains how the council decided a 60ft ten level concrete ramp was to be the answer. The mother and daughter now have to battle with skateboarders who think it is the perfect play ground and the council have refused to errect a gate at the bottom of the ramp as a deterent.
