Charity to offer free holidays to disabled people

A leading charity has announced that it will shortly begin to offer free accessible holidays to disabled people and their families after confirming that they have received a Big Lottery Fund donation totalling £2 million.

The Papworth Trust, which is based in Cambridge but provides various services to 20,000 members of the disabled community nationwide every year, plans to start renovating a 16th century Welsh farmhouse soon, and expects the site to be fully open by the end of this summer.

As the chief executive of the Papworth Trust, Adrian Bagg, noted: 'it can be hard to have quality, stress free time together as a family' when disability is an issue, and the launch of this holiday programme should help to make enjoying a relaxing getaway a reality for many more in this position.

This new initiative is sure to be welcomed by people dependent on first hand and used Motability cars and other mobility aids, and will no doubt be in huge demand when it is made available.
