Camilla honours charity donor for wheelchair accessible holiday cottages
The Duchess of Cornwall visited Crathie Opportunity Holidays, which sits on the banks of the River Dee overlooking the Balmoral estate in Aberdeenshire, to unveil a plaque in memory of a significant donor to the charity.
Camilla, who has been patron of the charity since 2007, toured the four wheelchair accessible cottages today, speaking to families enjoying a holiday.
The Courier reported that Camilla said: "Could I congratulate everybody involved in this wonderful project. Meeting some of the people who are using it, you can see just how very special it is. I just think it's wonderful and I am very, very proud to be the patron and I was delighted to come along and support it in any way I can."
The organisation's aim is to make it possible for everyone to be able to find suitable accommodation of a high standard.
The buildings were designed to offer maximum accessibility and are equipped with a range of fixtures and free-standing aids with disabled guests in mind, such as low-level work tops and sinks.
