Aspiring disabled football coach gets support from Sir Alex
A young football fanatic who has been a wheelchair user since the age of 13 has received a message of support from Sir Alex Ferguson after becoming a fully qualified coach.
20-year-old Sohail Rehman, from the town of Keighley in West Yorkshire, has loved football all his life but, after spinal muscular atrophy eventually prevented him from playing, he decided to make it his ambition to become a first-class manager like Sir Alex.
Then, out of the blue, Sohail got a 'mindblowing' letter from the legendary Manchester United manager, congratulating him on his achievement and wishing him good luck for the future; this, he says, has given him the belief he needs to go all the way.
The recent London Paralympics and the stories of people like Sohail have shown many more people how it is possible for disabled users of Motability cars to enjoy fulfilling and active roles within sport, whether as a participant or a coach.
