Disabled children in Basingstoke have been learning wheelchair skills such as dancing and sports like Basketball as part of a charity event.
Charity ‘Go Kids Go’ put on the fantastic session at Queen Mary’s College recently which saw the youngsters, parents, friends and siblings joining them in wheelchairs to help understand their situation.
As well as fun games and skills, the session helped the children learn how to get around obstacles and deal with everyday situations like roads, curbs and stairs.
The aim of the workshop is to help the children to move more independently and have fun in a safe manner. The session was said to help out a lot of local families and sessions like these can be found around the country. Visit www.go-kids.go.org.uk for a full training course schedule.
