Plymouth are said to be the latest city in the UK to be trying to crack down on inconsiderate drivers who park on pavements.
Cabinet member for transport Kevin Wigens has stated that they are currently investigating whether the local council can start taking action against those who park in such a manner.
Those who park on pavements might not realise the problems they are causing, but larger vehicles can cause damage to the pavements and in most cases the vehicle is causing an obstruction that can cause those in wheelchairs many problems when trying to navigate around the vehicle.
Drivers of both mobility cars and regular vehicles also find the inconsiderate parking a problem due to the parkers causing limited visibility and causing pedestrians to walk in the road.
There are many road and pavement issues that the residents are unhappy with in Plymouth and this news will be welcomed by the residents who are campaigning for improved conditions.
