Dorchester advertising board problem

The West Dorset district council has come under fire from disabled groups for allowing advertising boards on the streets of Dorchester and causing mobility access problems.

At peak times, the town centre has said to have up to a hundred advertising boards littering the pavements and causing access problems for those in wheelchairs, with poor sight or mums with pushchairs.

The West Dorset District Council has been accused of sided with businesses after not taking action after they claimed they would resolve the problem.

It has now gotten to the stage where some disability campaigners are considering taking legal action against the sign owners and businesses.
